A Practice Update to our Patients, Friends and Neighbors
May 7, 2020
Jacksoneye remains focused on providing you with the very best eye care available.
Despite these unprecedented times, we remain available to our patients to address your eye care needs. We are currently accepting Telehealth appointments, and are also available for in-office emergency appointments on an as needed basis.
In addition, and in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, we will once again be able to resume conducting cataract surgery the week of May 18, 2020. For any of our patients that were previously scheduled for surgery, but were unfortunately cancelled due to the pandemic, we will be contacting you to reschedule you for your procedure as soon as we confirm our OR schedule.
The practice will reopen for normal, clinical operations on Monday, June 1, 2020 and will follow all safety recommendations per regulatory authorities to make our reopening a safe and secure environment.
Safety Is Our Priority
Please be assured that the safety of our patients and staff is of the utmost importance. In compliance with CDC guidelines, the team at Jacksoneye will be required to wear protective masks and other personal protective equipment (PPE) during all patient appointments. Exam lanes and other patient areas will be sanitized between each appointment, and staff will be screened on a daily basis to ensure they are in good health. There will be protective shields fitted on our slit lamp devices used for eye exams by our doctors to protect both the patient and the doctor. We also politely request that patients not speak during the actual, up-close portion of the eye exam to further reduce any risk. All questions and answers will resume after the up-close portion of the eye exam is completed.
We will also be screening patients prior to their appointments to ensure they are also in good health, and without a fever. In compliance with state regulations, patients will be required to wear protective masks during their appointments, and to utilize hand sanitizer upon their arrival. Unless assistance is required, we are also asking that additional family members or friends remain in the car for the duration of the patient’s appointment and refrain from accompanying them into the practice. Before entering the practice, temperature checks and other basic questioning will be completed by a staff member to comply with safety guidelines with our reopening.
Lastly, Jacksoneye will be implementing comprehensive safety and protective measures such as social distancing, virtual check-in/out for appointments, and paperless processes whenever possible.
As always, we look forward to providing you the best care of your eyes, your friends at Jacksoneye.
