Dr. Abhilash “Abhi” Guduru, M.D. – Jacksoneye 2021/2022 Fellow
Dr. Guduru is highly recommended by his educators and peers for his skills, compassion, outgoing personality and dedication to his patients and to the field of ophthalmology.
He received his Bachelor of Biomechanical Engineering, Applied Sciences & Statistics Degree from John Hopkins University and his Medical Degree from UNC Chapel Hill School of Medicine. Dr. Guduru also completed his residency training at Duke University Hospital. He enjoys cooking and dancing, as well as all kinds of outdoor activities including basketball and cricket.
Dr. Guduru is passionate about helping and giving back to the community and has participated in numerous outreach programs and health screenings during his undergraduate and medical school years. He has also worked internationally for a summer at LV Prasad Eye Institute at Hyderbad, India learning about the care of ophthalmology from an international perspective.
Dr. Guduru’s areas of expertise include sutureless cataract surgery with implantation of monofocal and advanced technology intraocular lenses, laser cataract surgery, implantation of minimally invasive surgical devices (MIGS) and laser treatments for glaucoma, dry eye disease, and cosmetic procedures with BOTOX. Dr. Guduru also has a passion for refractive surgery, performing blade-free intralase LASIK and PRK.
